Itinerary

Day 1:

Traditional Fishing Itinerary in Emberá Querá

Total Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours

📍 Meeting Point:

📍 Dock at Gatún River, Colón, Limón. (Exact location will be provided upon booking).

🕘 9:00 AM – Welcome and Departure by Canoe

  • Meet the Emberá guides at the boarding point.
  • Board a traditional dugout canoe and navigate along the Gatún River.
  • Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and observe the local wildlife.

🕙 10:00 AM – Arrival at Emberá Querá Community

  • Warm welcome by the community members with a brief introduction to their culture and traditions.
  • Explanation of artisanal fishing and the techniques used by the Emberá people.

🕦 10:30 AM – Traditional Fishing Experience

  • Departure by canoe to the best fishing spots on the river.
  • Hands-on fishing using traditional methods such as nets and rustic hooks, guided by local fishermen.
  • Free time to enjoy the natural surroundings and take photos of the landscape.

🕛 12:00 PM – Return to the Community and Fish Preparation

  • Return to the community with the freshly caught fish.
  • Demonstration of traditional Emberá-style fish preparation.
  • Opportunity to taste a delicious typical meal with fresh ingredients.

🕑 1:30 PM – Free Time and Optional Activities

  • Explore the community and learn about their handicrafts.
  • Refreshing swim in the river (optional).
  • Traditional Emberá dance and music performance (optional, subject to availability).

🕒 2:30 PM – Farewell and Canoe Return

  • Thank you ceremony for the experience.
  • Canoe ride back to the starting point.

🕓 3:00 PM – End of Experience

  • Arrival at the dock and conclusion of the tour.
