The Embera Nepono association is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), with legal status legally recognized by resolution No. 342-JP-244, of November 22, 2012, of the Ministry of Government and Justice, as established. the laws of the Republic of Panama, and registered in the Public Registry through Public Deed No. 34255, dated February 22, 2013. It was created on July 23, 2009 and arose due to the great challenges and problems that were faced presents the community, as well as the absence of organized people who would confront and ensure the rights as indigenous people. It is made up of young people, professionals and residents of the Embera Quera community.

Embera Nepono’s activities are aimed at promoting community development initiatives, coordinating organized actions of the indigenous communities of Panama and other related groups, with the aim of contributing to improving the quality of life, environmental conservation and promoting cultural tourism. among other local development issues.
