Panama seeks the development of indigenous communities as an alternative for tourism recovery

Indigenous Panama is the new proposal that the authorities seek to promote as one of the main experiences that focus on the conscious traveler, through which they seek to show the worldview and traditions of seven authentic indigenous peoples (Ngäbe, Buglé, Naso Tjërdi, Bri- Bri, Guna, Emberá and Wounaan)

According to the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), where travelers will be able to have contact with their wisdom and their spiritual connection with the pristine nature that surrounds those communities. The ATP reported that the initiative: “Indigenous Panama”, a tourist circuit that is developed as part of the Heritage Routes proposed in the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan (PMTS) 2020 – 2025.

The meeting took place in the community of Akua Yala, Guna region of Madugandi, where for the first time a tourism proposal was delivered to indigenous peoples.
